Rooster Lights

Rooster lamps, anyone? Or roosters lights? Originating from ‘Tholu Bommalata’ folk art or the ‘art of designing shadow puppetry,’ the leather lamps of Andhra are a modern-day design intervention made to sustain this Andhra artform and appeal to contemporary taste. We reached out to our artists and asked them to design rooster lamps with rooster lamp shades. The artisans made use of natural materials such as wooden pens and translucent goat leather to create these luminous rooster lamps. Subtle colours, perforations across the surface, and motifs inspired by nature and humanity are the distinctive features of these lamps. The picture-perfect artistry and raw charm of these leather lamps can bring love and light to anyone’s home. Rooster art online never seemed more delighful, or should we say, lightful!
